PLAY / Lady Macbeth x Norwegian Hotel Room

Lady Macbeth x Norwegian Hotel Room
Created in an interior design course, 2015

DIRECTION
Design a hotel room inspired by a painting of your choice. Translate the emotional tone, visual cues, and narrative elements into a spatial experience.

TOOLS
Paper · Pencil · Magazine Cutouts · Architectural Drafting · Collage

CONTEXT
This conceptual hotel room overlooks a Norwegian fjord and draws its emotional and visual inspiration from John Singer Sargent’s Ellen Terry as Lady Macbeth. Floor plans, elevations, and collage elements mirror the theatrical strength of the painting — from gold chainmail-inspired screens to a bathroom shaped by power and presence. The result is a space designed for rest, transformation, and stage-worthy stillness.
